This genuine Janome optional bobbin case is designed for free-motion quilting and specialist sewing techniques that benefit from a lower bobbin thread tension.

Pre-set to approximately 8g tension, compared with approximately 15g for most standard Janome bobbin cases, this lower-tension bobbin holder helps produce neater stitching on the underside of quilts and gives greater control when working with specialist threads.

Updated Bobbin Case Design

This is the new upgraded type bobbin case without the small lever on top, which has replaced the older lever-style version.

The updated bobbin case has the thread weight setting of 8g printed inside and may feature blue or blue/white markings. The blue marking on the top helps distinguish it from the standard bobbin case, which typically has a red marking and a higher preset tension.

Please Note: This is an optional low-tension bobbin case, not a standard replacement bobbin case. It is only suitable for the compatible models listed below. Some machines may use this style of bobbin case, so please check your existing bobbin case before ordering.
