The Schmetz metallic sewing machine needle has an elongated eye providing less stress on the thread as it passes through the eye. The metallic needle is ideal for sewing with metallic, heavy, multiple, embroidery, foil-like and even poor quality threads. The metallic needle has a slightly rounded point.
Top tip - In the case of flat foil threads, the thread should not be pulled out at the top but always from the side of the reel to prevent the thread from twisting and breaking. To prevent the threads from tearing, you can also try to significantly reduce the thread tension and sewing more slowly than you would with normal threads. A longer stitch length improves the shine of metallic threads and also helps to reduce thread breakage.
