Seasoned quilters prefer to use a 1/4" seam foot without the assistance of guide to avoid catching on the seam allowance. There is even a 1/4" guide line on the left side of the needle drop for added convenience.
This foot is a Genuine Janome item - Not in Janome packaging (as it often comes with machines)

Helpful for items with seams
I own this foot with the guide and it gets in the way when sewing over seams, etc. This foot avoids that issue. Great service - good price and speedy delivery. Thank you.

Great tool box addition
Purchased as a 1/4” foot without guide, to compliment the standard Janome 1/4” foot with guide. This foot is great when sewing multiple seamed units of patchwork where the seams converge together, No guide to catch. Also useful for scant 1/4” seams. Happy with my purchase
