This is designed to work with special stitches on your brother machine which have a S next to them, this will also slow your machine down, only use this foot on a slower speed.

If your machine does not have a letter S next to any stitches then double check the needle does not hit any part of the foot when the needle is swing, normally a overlock stitch is used

 

Cut fabric and overcast fabric edges at the same time. Side Cutter foot creates the perfectly cut edge of a overlock. Measure and finish fabric edges with straight or zig zag stitches. Centred post for consistent stitch formation over fabric edge.

 

Creates the perfect cut edge like a Overlocker/Serger.

Selecting a stitch designated for the Side Cutter allows you to create a beautiful finish without any adjustment on stitch settings.

1. Make a cut about 2 cm (3/4’’) long in the seam line of the fabric.
2. Select a stitch, and adjust settings as needed.
3. Place the cut right section on the top of the foot guide plate.
4. Slip the left side under the presser foot.
5. Lower the presser foot and guide the fabric through the presser foot as it stitches.
